Revisiting The President's Chariot

Early last year I had this stunning 210 opposing the business-end of my lens on a brisk February morning. I still remember the enormous tension in my hands and back while I attempted to stabilize my camera off its tripod. The very core of my body trembled under a heavy coat as I eagerly anticipated the warmth from the rising sun.

The photos before you are from a beautiful and significantly warmer July morning when Josh of Lunchbox Photoworks and I met again with Perea Russell, the President of the Bombardiers Car Club.

Since we last met this clean classic has had its suspension updated from 50's technology to an air ride system courtesy of Ride Tech.

Along with the improved ride quality Russ also has the ability to lay his 210 down at will, or just drop the ass with independent corner controls.

A continental kit was also added as a period-correct accessory. The pin stripping and "Super Bad" calligraphy perfectly bridging the low rider and classic aesthetic.

Like last year we tread lightly through the placid streets of downtown Albuquerque at sunrise and took in its soft light.

The urban environment is home to the Bombardiers who proudly put miles on their immaculate machines. For more on the Bombardiers check out their website
